The exorbitant price of the phone.A Gizmodo UK report claims that Samsung’s foldable display phone which is essentially a tablet that folds into a wallet could cost around 2 million Won which is over Rs 1,20,000. It will have multiple variants and the top-end variant is expected to cost even more.Samsung has been rumoured to be working on a foldable phone for many years now. The company finally gave us a sneak peak at the device during its developers conference held in San Francisco. The phone was seen sporting an over 7-inch AMOLED display that folded down to reveal an over 4-inch secondary display on the outer side. The idea is to have one large tablet-size device that fits in the pocket after folding. And not just the display, you can also thick body and a large battery inside the phone.Samsung’s mobile chief DJ Koh in an interview to CNBC had hinted that the phone could launch by the end of this year. That hasn’t happened yet. The phone is now said to launch at MWC next year.advertisement”You can use most of the uses… on foldable status. But when you need to browse or see something, then you may need to unfold it. But even unfolded, what kind of benefit does that give compared to the tablet? If the unfolded experience is the same as the tablet, why would they (consumers) buy it,” he said while talking about the phone at the IFA electronics show held in August in Berlin.ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy F foldable phone may launch this month: Here’s what we know so farlast_img read more
