Men’s Golf In Seventh After First Two Rounds At MVC Championship

first_img SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The Drake University men’s golf team finished the first two rounds of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship in seventh place Monday at The Club at Porto Clima.The Bulldogs carded a round of 306 in the morning followed by 309 in the afternoon for a total of 615. Illinois State owns a 1-stroke lead in first place at 285-292 – 577 followed by SIU at 291-287 – 578.Three Bulldogs are in the top 25 of the individual leaderboard with Tommi Avant leading the way at 74-79 – 153 in 20th place. Lucas Scherf and Shayne Patel are tied for 21st at 174. Scherf wend 76-78 while Patel carded a 79-75 on the 7,060-yard, par-72 course.Illinois State’s David Rauer leads the field at 141 after an impressive opening round of 66.The final round of the MVC Championship is scheduled to tee off Tuesday at 8 a.m.Team Standings1.
